All workshop registrations are subject to the following policies. These policies exist due to the limited-capacity nature of the workshops, the extensive preparation required for traditional Korean papermaking instruction, and the significant amount of labor, material processing, and studio resources involved in each session.
By registering for a workshop, participants acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
Full payment is required at the time of registration in order to secure enrollment.
Workshop spaces are not held without payment and remain available for public registration until payment has been received in full.
Due to the extremely limited enrollment structure of the workshops, unpaid registrations cannot be reserved or guaranteed.
Workshop tuition is non-refundable.
Traditional Korean papermaking workshops require extensive preparation prior to each session, including:
fiber processing,
material preparation,
equipment setup,
studio scheduling,
limited-capacity enrollment planning.
As a result, cancellations significantly impact both studio operations and workshop availability.
Participants who cancel their registration forfeit their workshop tuition unless a transfer option is approved directly by the instructor.
Workshop transfers and rescheduling requests are not guaranteed and are granted solely at the discretion of the instructor.
If approved, transfers are limited to:
one transfer per registration;
one future workshop selection.
Transferred registrations must be confirmed within the timeframe provided by the instructor. Failure to confirm and submit any remaining balance within the stated timeframe will result in forfeiture of the registration and all associated payments.
Once a registration has been transferred:
additional cancellations,
further rescheduling requests,
or secondary transfers,
WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.
Workshop transfer options may vary depending on:
workshop availability,
enrollment capacity,
material preparation requirements,
and any applicable tuition differences between workshops.
Workshops are intentionally limited in enrollment due to the physically intensive, labor-driven, and materially conscious nature of traditional Korean papermaking practices.
These workshops involve:
individualized instruction,
specialized tools and equipment,
direct hands-on demonstrations,
extensive studio preparation,
and techniques rarely taught publicly outside of dedicated craft institutions.
Workshop tuition supports:
specialized instruction,
studio operations,
traditional equipment maintenance,
fiber preparation,
material costs,
and the continued preservation of Korean papermaking traditions.
Workshops begin promptly at their scheduled start time. Due to the sequential and demonstration-based nature of instruction, late arrivals may miss essential portions of the workshop process.
No refunds, credits, or partial reimbursements will be issued for late arrival, early departure, or missed workshop time.
In the event that a workshop must be cancelled due to illness, emergency, insufficient enrollment, weather, or unforeseen circumstances, participants will be offered either:
a full refund,
or transfer into a future workshop.
By registering for a workshop, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to all workshop policies listed above.
